NWSC and systems maintenance update: Casper, GLADE and other systems returned to service

July 16, 2020

Following a multi-team, 24-hour effort, CISL HPC specialists restored the Casper cluster, GLADE and Campaign Storage file systems, HPSS, data-access nodes, and remote access services FastX and VNC to service at approximately 7:30 p.m. MDT on Wednesday.

Other work scheduled for Wednesday at the NCAR-Wyoming Supercomputing Center was completed successfully. CISL staff members and external contractors continued repair efforts on the facility's power infrastructure. CISL staff, HPE and Nortek contractors also continued maintenance and repairs on Cheyenne cooling system components and the process of flushing those components.

Cheyenne’s maintenance efforts remain on schedule and the system is still expected to return to service on Saturday.
