Cheyenne unavailable today for job scheduler update

Cheyenne will be taken off line at approximately 10 a.m. MST today to allow CISL staff to install an updated version of the PBS Pro job scheduler system. The software update is expected to resolve the root cause of the recent system interruptions. The outage is expected to last until approximately 5 p.m. but every effort will be made to return the system to service as soon as possible.

A system reservation is in place to prevent batch jobs from executing after 10 a.m. All batch queues will be suspended and the Cheyenne login nodes will be unavailable throughout the outage.  All jobs that are still executing when the outage begins will be killed. Yellowstone users may experience brief periods of slow performance during the Cheyenne outage.

CISL will inform users through the Notifier service when the system is restored. We apologize to all users for the inconvenience this will cause and thank you for your patience.
